LATIRSINCRÓNICO sinfonía corporal is a sound/body project that proposes the experiment of creating cardiac melodies from the sound of two hearts. A wireless sound amplification unit -created in collaboration with dinamo DIY espai- allows the sound of the heartbeat to be heard in real time. Through physical, emotional and spatial alterations, this research involves an exploration of heart rates and intensities both individually and in relation to the other person’s heartbeat. Latirsincrónico explores musicality in synchronous and discordant rhythms; in the effect of affective interaction between two people; in physical reactions to various external stimuli; and in the influence of thought, emotions and memories.

This intimate exploration presents a visual, sound, and performative installation that will allow the audience to listen to a bodily symphony of heartbeats as they watch Isil Sol Vil x Marina Barsy Janer going through different emotional, physical, and energetic states.

The performance LATIRSINCRONICO sinfonía corporal is structured in three instances, directly related to the current sociopolitical context of Borikén (Puerto Rico): the privatization and sale of beaches to US investors – with the complicity of the colonial government; the abysmal rise in prices of electric energy controlled by the company LUMA and the constant blackouts suffered by the population; the implementation of the most recent colonial law known as PROMESA that establishes a Financial Oversight and Management Board (appointed by the US) which extracts decision-making power from the government of Puerto Rico and redirects the economy of the country. Each instance contains a different heartbeat.
