MAR DE ISLAS performance encounter of the Caribbean
We have the honor, together with Helen Ceballos, of being part of the curatorship and direction of MAR DE ISLAS performance encounter of the Caribbean.
From the urgency of embodying our SEA OF ISLANDS in opposition to the current segregation of the Caribbean, this meeting of Caribbean artists is created in the Borikén archipelago (Puerto Rico). The main objective is to unite and exchange creations, sensibilities, resistance and knowledge among our Caribbean neighbors, through performance art. This encounter is created from Borikén (Puerto Rico), one of the oldest colonies in the world, and includes the production and exhibition of unpublished performances by islander artists and creators living in the Caribbean.
This first edition of MAR DE ISLAS performance encounter of the Caribbean will be held from November 21 to 28, 2021, and includes a discussion panel on the Caribbean as the opening event, an artistic residency that culminates with a performance presentation, a pedagogical program and a closing event.
