Synopsis
Filmed two months after hurricanes Irma and María passed through the archipelago of Puerto Rico, ECOS DE RESISTENCIA en la colonia más antigua del mundo gathers testimonies of groups and individuals who are creating new alternatives to the colonial system before and after the devastation of these hurricanes in 2017. The state of emergency that Puerto Rico experienced at that time crudely demonstrated the neglect and contempt of the colonial government, putting the people’s urgency and capacity of self-organisation in the foreground. The fruits of this popular organisation are lived today.
